Tips On How To Take Good Care Of Your Ergonomic Office Chair
Do you like the comfort and support your ergonomic chair is providing you? You should. Ergonomic chairs provide more comfort and back support than average office chairs. When working for long hours, you need to use this chair to ensure that you will not be weighed down by body constraints. This is a common problem for employees who work using an uncomfortable chair.
Now that you have found the right office chair, you have to make sure that it will last for a long time. Here are some tips you should consider:
Tip 1: Regularly vacuum your chair. The foams and the fabric might accumulate dust mites and dust particles. Make sure you vacuum your chair using hand held cleaner or a shop vacuum to suck dirt and dust particles. This will ensure that your work chair will look like new all the time.
Tip 2: Immediately clean out stains. Get an absorbent towel and absorb the excess moisture. Vinegar is an all-around stain cleaner. Mix diluted baking soda, white vinegar and water. Place this in a spray bottle. Spray the cleaning solution on the stained parts of the mattress. Let the cleaner work in dissolving the stains. You can use a soft-bristled brush to lightly scrub the stains out. However, if your chair is made up of satin or delicate materials, you just have to wait for the stains to be dissolved by the cleaner. Wipe away the cleaning residues using damp towel. Use your hair dryer to dry it up completely.
Tip 3: Don’t play with the adjustment lever of your chair. Only use the lever when you need it. If the lever gets stuck, do not force the chair to adjust position. Ask the maintenance person to fix the problem or try to add some lubricating grease to loosen it up.
Tip 4: Do not sit on the armrest. The armrest is intended only for the support of your arms. Anything heavier might break it.
Tip 5: Don’t stand on the chair. Not only is this dangerous especially if it has casters, it is also damaging to the cushion of the chair. It might also damage the supporting structure of the chair.
Tip 6: Avoid bumping it on doors or tables. Although the scratches can be removed, it might speed up the deterioration of the parts of the chair.
Tip 7: If your chair smells funny, you might want to air it out a bit or spray deodorizer such as Febreze. If you don’t have Febreze, sprinkle baking soda all over the chair and vacuum it. Baking soda helps remove odor.
